The Project

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Manager for a unique water infrastructure pipeline project initially Brisbane headquarters based then mobilising to Toowoomba in early 2027 on a 5:2 DIDO roster.

This role will ensure the financial integrity of the project is maintained and enhanced through process systems and best practice decision-making. It will also prepare financial reports accounting records and other information allowing the project and senior leaders to make best decisions for the project.

Your Opportunity

This role is responsible for developing implementing and leading the commercial framework for assigned projects. Responsibilities include contract management client engagement procurement strategy subcontract administration cost control and forecasting commercial risk management insurances and reporting.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant legal commercial and corporate standards policies and agreed benchmarks;
  • Lead the effective identification mitigation and management of commercial and financial risks;
  • Provide timely commercial contractual and risk advisory support to senior stakeholders;
  • Lead develop and mentor high-performing Commercial and Administration teams; and
  • Provide strategic commercial oversight and guidance and project delivery.

What Youll Need to Succeed:

  • Extensive experience operating as a Commercial Manager within the construction industry; ideally with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor;
  • Advanced expertise in project systems commercial governance contract administration and project management frameworks;
  • Demonstrated leadership capability including experience leading large high-performing commercial teams;
  • Highly developed negotiation influencing and stakeholder management capabilities supported by exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
  • A strong attention to detail coupled with sound commercial judgement; and
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce Law Engineering or a related discipline.
