Commercial Landscape Estimator Project Manager
Job Summary
This is an opportunity to join an established mid-tier commercial landscaping company delivering a diverse range of projects across South East Queensland.
Working closely with the Managing Directors youll take a key role across estimating tendering and project delivery with approximately 80% of your time focused on estimating and pre-construction and 20% on project management and delivery.
For an experienced commercial landscaper supervisor or leading hand looking to step away from being permanently on the tools this could also be an opportunity to use your practical knowledge in a more commercially focused predominantly office-based role.
The Role
Youll be involved from the initial assessment of a tender opportunity through to pricing submission handover and ongoing commercial management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing incoming tender opportunities and assessing suitability
- Managing the tender process from initial assessment through to submission
- Completing accurate take-offs and measurements from plans
- Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for review and approval
- Reviewing plans specifications and tender documentation
- Liaising with builders clients consultants suppliers and subcontractors
- Preparing project budgets and site tracking documentation
- Obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Procuring key materials and subcontracted works
- Preparing and managing project variations
- Assisting with monthly progress claims
- Supporting the handover of successful tenders to site supervisors
- Monitoring project costs against tendered allowances
- Building relationships with existing and prospective clients suppliers and subcontractors
- $130k - $150k super
- Company vehicle
- Predominantly office-based position

Ideally youll already have experience in commercial landscaping whether thats been gained through estimating project management supervision or senior site-based roles.
More important than having followed one particular career path is having a strong understanding of how commercial landscape projects are priced and delivered.
Youll ideally bring:
- Strong commercial landscaping knowledge
- Estimating and/or project management experience highly regarded
- The ability to read and interpret plans specifications and tender documentation
- An understanding of labour materials subcontractors and project costs
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
- Confident communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to build relationships with builders clients suppliers and subcontractors
- Good organisation and the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
- Competence with Microsoft Office and relevant estimating/project software
- Landscape horticulture or construction-related qualifications advantageous but not essential
