Reporting directly to the Cloud Operations Manager the Azure Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining secure scalable and cost-effective cloud solutions that support the organisations strategic goals and business operations.

You will be pivotal in shaping our cloud strategy optimizing cloud performance and willdrive the modernisation migration and optimisation of applications and services to Azure. A key responsibility is the management and governance of St Vincents Azure tenancy ensuring security compliance cost optimisation and operational efficiency across the platform.

About the role

  • We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to deliveroperateand continuously improve our Azure cloud platform supporting Tier 0 clinical and enterprise systems.

  • This is a hands-on experienced technical role for an engineer who enjoys ownership problem-solvingand working at scale in a regulated mission-critical environment.

The role

  • Deliver andoperatesecure scalable Azure cloud infrastructure

  • Improve the maturity of Azure platform services DevOpspracticesand operational processes

  • Own and uplift Infrastructure as Code patterns deploymentpipelinesand platform hardening

  • Support high availabilitybackupand disaster recovery for critical systems

  • Act as a experienced technical escalation point during incidents and outages

  • Implement security controls aligned with best practices

  • Partner with cybersecurity datanetworkingand application teamsto collaborate with for common goals

  • Support cloud migrations platformmodernisationand new service delivery

  • Supportorganisation-wide digital and virtual-care transformation goals

About you

  • 3 -5 years hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure

  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation particularly Terraform plusexperience with Bicep ARM templates AzureDevOpsand/or GitHub

  • Experience leveraging Platform Engineering patterns and AI-assisted development (e.g. GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery and operational efficiency

  • Experience with AKS Azure Container Apps FunctionAppsorcontainerisedapplication platforms

  • Strong knowledge of backup disasterrecoveryand resilience patterns

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to be used with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
