The Opportunity
Working closely with operational maintenance finance and procurement stakeholders you will play a critical role in developing category strategies managing supplier relationships and delivering value through effective procurement and contract management practices.
Reporting to the Manager Procurement - Mining Equipment you will:
- Develop and implement category strategies for mining equipment across the business.
- Lead strategic sourcing activities including RFQs supplier evaluations and commercial negotiations.
- Manage key supplier agreements including contract performance KPI reporting quarterly business reviews and dispute resolution.
- Conduct market analysis and maintain category intelligence to identify opportunities risks and emerging trends.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with operational requirements.
- Analyse spend data and maintain category documentation supplier profiles and procurement records.
- Support cost optimisation risk mitigation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Present category performance insights and sourcing recommendations to key stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Provide procurement guidance and support to internal customers across the business.
About You
You are a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys building strong supplier partnerships and delivering tangible business outcomes. You bring a strategic mindset strong analytical capability and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
To be successful you will possess:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Business Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years experience in strategic procurement category management or sourcing.
- Experience working within mining heavy industry engineering or asset-intensive environments.
- Strong understanding of mining equipment markets and supplier networks.
- Demonstrated negotiation and contract management experience.
- Proven ability to analyse data and translate insights into strategic sourcing decisions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication organisation and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing competing priorities.
