Through our National Immigration Support Service (NISS) we provide compassionate culturally safe and trauma-informed support to asylum seekers and refugees living in the Australian community. We walk alongside individuals and families on their journey helping them navigate what can be complex and challenging systems and empowering them to reach their goals one step at a time.

About the Role

Employment Type: Permanent

Attendance:Full Time - 38 hours per week

Office Location:Parramatta with flexibility to work from office and home

As a Case Coordinator within the Intake team you will provide personalised responsive and high-quality assessment and triage support to clients. This role is critical in ensuring timely access to services and building strong pathways for support.

In this role you will:

  • Conduct thorough intake assessments to determine client eligibility and immediate support needs
  • Work collaboratively with clients to prepare complete and submit SRSS applications accurately and in a timely manner
  • Assist clients with referrals to appropriate community supports and services ensuring coordinated and holistic support pathways
  • Ensure client safety by undertaking risk assessments developing safety plans and maintaining accurate compliant and timely records
  • Build strong trust-based relationships with clients and their families using strengths-based culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches
  • Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including conducting outreach assessments and representing the program within the community
  • Deliver presentations and information sessions to external organisations to increase awareness and understanding of NISS supports and referral pathways

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Services or related discipline
  • Case coordination experience including developing and implementing case plans that support clients independent living and their ongoing eligibility for services.
  • Experience working in Mental Health and/or Domestic Violence sectors will be highly regarded
  • Ability to perform comprehensive assessments in areas such as finances health housing social needs vocational skills and education.
  • Experience managing clients with complex physical and mental health issues
  • Working understanding of current casework practices for Culturally and linguistically diverse clients.
  • Multilingual communication skills would be highly regarded

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and any relevant stated based checks.
