About the role:

Join our team in Cairns and play a hands-on role in keeping Queenslands Travel & Tourism Rollingstock fleet safe reliable and ready for this role youll carry out preventative maintenance repairs and fault-finding across a variety of rollingstock including supporting the world-renowned Kuranda Scenic Railway a service that delivers one of Australias most iconic rail journeys.

This is a great opportunity to combine your mechanical or carpentry trade skills with a role that helps showcase Far North Queensland to visitors from around the globe all while working in a supportive team environment.

Purpose That Counts Some of the responsibilities of the role:

  • Carry out preventative maintenance repairs and fault-finding on Traveltrain rollingstock predominantly Kuranda Scenic Railway trains.
  • Support carriage overhaul and refurbishment programs.
  • Respond to in-service defects derailments and incidents to minimise customer impact.
  • Maintain safety standards and contribute to a clean safe depot environment.
  • Accurately record maintenance data in enterprise systems.

Position Description

People Who Count - What you can bring to the role:

  • Skilled in preventative and unscheduled maintenance fault finding and repair on rollingstock.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a depot team.
  • Knowledgeable in derailment and accident recovery safety environmental and quality practices.
  • Must hold a current National Drivers Licence (Class C)
  • Must hold a Mechanical Engineering Trade Certificate

Hours and Salary:

This position offers an 8-day fortnight roster. With the current roster and allowances you have the potential to earn over $115000 annually plus 12.75% superannuation.
