Part-Time Boat Ramp Survey Interviewer

We are seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Boat Ramp Survey Interviewer to assist with research and monitoring of recreational fishing in the Weiparegion. Your role will be to engage with fishermen and the general public at local boat ramps record catch details and accurately identify fish species.

About the role:

• Conduct interviews with fishermen at public boat ramps in Weipa

• Record data on fish species caught as part of ongoing research and monitoring

• Work 2weekend shifts (Sat or Sunday) and 2Fridays per month: approx 4shifts per month - 4 hour shifts

What were looking for:

• Genuine interest in fishing and marine life

• Strong knowledge of local fish species and confident identification skills

• Excellent communication skills and confidence in approaching members of the public

• Reliability and attention to detail

• MUSTbe an Australian citizen or permanent resident to apply for this role. (Working Holiday Visas will not be considered as this role will be ongoing and may lead to permanency).
