Whats the role
Join Westpac Institutional Banks Merchant Payments team and help shape the future of digital payments for businesses across Australia. Based in Sydney with hybrid working arrangements this 12-month max-term parental leave cover opportunity sits within the Global Transaction Services business and focuses on the evolution of our merchant acquiring portfolio including eCommerce in-store mobile and emerging payment acceptance solutions.
Youll play a key role in developing and enhancing products that help businesses accept payments more simply securely and efficiently. Working across areas such as SoftPOS EFTPOS Air and other mobile payment technologies youll translate customer needs market trends and industry opportunities into meaningful product capabilities and enhancements.
Partnering closely with technology delivery operations risk and external providers youll help define product roadmaps prioritise new features and support the successful delivery of customer-focused solutions. Youll also contribute to product governance risk management and ongoing portfolio performance while acting as a trusted subject matter expert within a rapidly evolving payments environment. This is an opportunity to influence strategic outcomes drive innovation and be part of a team that is helping businesses grow through smarter payment experiences.
What do I need
Youll bring a passion for creating great customer experiences and a strong understanding of payments product management and stakeholder engagement. Were looking for someone who enjoys solving problems delivering change and working collaboratively across complex environments.
- Strong experience in payments merchant acquiring or related financial services products including payment processing and acceptance solutions.
- Experience managing products end-to-end from identifying opportunities and defining roadmaps through to delivery and ongoing enhancement.
- Ability to build trusted relationships influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across business technology and delivery teams.
- Strong analytical thinking and customer focus with the ability to translate insights into practical solutions and product improvements.
- Knowledge of the Australian payments landscape including emerging technologies and digital payment trends such as SoftPOS and mobile acceptance solutions.
