Assistant Professor of Religion (Islam subfield tenure track)

The Department of Religion at Denison University invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position in the Islamic studies subfield to begin in August 2027. We seek a broadly trained scholar of religion whose teaching and research engage diverse historical and geographic contexts within the Islamic tradition. Teaching responsibilities will include an introduction to the study of religion course a survey of Islam thematic seminars centered on Islamic traditions and additional topical and/or theoretical courses that support the Religion major. The successful candidate will also teach writing-intensive courses that fulfill Denisons writing program requirements.
