Overview:
Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced APS6 Senior HR Adviser to join their People and Culture team in Canberra.
In this role you will provide strategic and operational HR and recruitment support across the organisation. You will work closely with managers employees and key stakeholders to deliver practical people-focused advice and contribute to recruitment workforce initiatives policy development and continuous improvement activities.
The successful candidate will bring strong HR and recruitment experience sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities within a collaborative high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end recruitment and selection processes including job design advertising assessment activities selection documentation offers and onboarding.
Ensure recruitment activities comply with relevant APS legislative policy and procedural requirements.
Build productive relationships with managers employees and external stakeholders and deliver responsive customer-focused HR services.
Develop review and implement workplace policies procedures guidelines and recruitment resources.
Develop and contribute to people initiatives projects and programs that support strategic and workforce priorities.
Partner with managers to identify current and future workforce needs risks and opportunities and provide practical advice and solutions.
Provide considered HR advice on matters including performance employee wellbeing and workplace culture.
Prepare consultation materials and facilitate stakeholder engagement activities incorporating feedback into people and workforce initiatives.
Contribute to strategic projects continuous improvement activities and broader organisational priorities.
Experience/requirements:
Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation APS recruitment frameworks policies and contemporary HR practices.
Strong experience delivering end-to-end recruitment and/or broader human resources services.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including preparing high-quality correspondence briefings and recruitment documentation.
Proven ability to build productive working relationships and provide trusted professional advice to managers employees and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify issues anticipate risks and develop practical solutions.
Experience leading or contributing to workforce people or recruitment initiatives while managing competing priorities.
Demonstrated sound judgement discretion and the ability to provide balanced evidence-based advice in complex or sensitive situations.
Ability to work effectively within a small high-performing team and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience with APS recruitment and eRecruit or a similar recruitment system will be highly regarded.
Qualifications in Human Resources Business Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance and undertake a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.
