This position is responsible for the overall business and financial operation of all airfreight related activities for the branch. As well as leading a team of air freight operators the position will have responsibility for achieving and reporting on KPIs.
Your typical day at DSV:
- Direct guide and support staff to achieve optimum performance.
- Establish and maintain airfreight and customer relationships.
- Data base management including invoicing and quoting.
- Be responsible for the overall performance for the airfreight operations and ensure management intensity is maintained in key performance areas.
- Facilitate the provision of operational supports including import and export documentation synchronisation of origin/destination zone transport customs formalities and the overall scope of the door to door trade.
- Formulate and implement action plans.
- Ensure effective and timely delivery of customer commitments by the organisation.
- Follow and enforce company policy and procedures.
- Lead direct and support daily operations as well as spearheading the development and rollout of improvement initiatives.
- Create a challenging rewarding and open work environment that facilitates constructive communication and motivates performance.
- Identify and groom staff with potential for succession.
- Constantly monitor cost control efforts within the Department.
- Provide drive and motivation to the department by leading from the front.
- Provide leadership guidance and performance feedback for department.
- Mentor coach challenge and evaluate team members.
About you:
- At least 5-7 years of experience in a senior airfeight operations role or similar
- Experience with EDI software solutions and large complex organizations
- Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management and a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
- Ability to meet competing timelines
- Experience mentoring coaching challenging and evaluating team members
