About the Role
Opera Australia isseekingan organised and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manageryoullplayan important rolein ensuring the smooth operation of our Accounts Payable function by processing supplier payments accurately and on timemaintainingstrong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers and supporting the wider Finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment has a keen eye for detail and is passionate about delivering high-quality financial administration while contributing to continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable function ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and paid on time.
- Set up new suppliers andmaintainsupplier recordsin accordance withcompany policy.
- Match invoices to authorised purchase orders ensuring correct coding and GST treatment.
- Generate weekly EFT payment runs and process employee expense claims.
- Process foreign currency payments and monthly corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoicepaymentand purchase order queries.
- Prepare month-end creditor reports and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the Finance team with ad hoc projects andidentifyopportunities to improve processes.
About You
You are a proactive and organised finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in deliveringaccurate efficient work. You have excellent attention to detailstrong communicationskills and enjoy building positive working relationships with colleagues and suppliers alike.
Youllbring:
- At least 12 months experience in an Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail anda high levelof accuracy.
- Strong communicationand customer service skills.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience withSunSystemsand/or iPOS purchasing systems will be highly regarded.
