The Role

Were looking for a motivated and analytical Accountant - Financial Planning & Analysis to join our Finance team on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the Manager Financial Planning and Analysis youll play an important role in supporting budgeting forecasting management reporting and financial analysis activities across TasWater. Youll help provide accurate financial information maintain financial models and contribute to reporting that supports informed decision-making throughout the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting or finance professional looking to develop their commercial acumen financial modelling capability and stakeholder engagement skills within a large and complex organisation.

In this role you will:

  • Support the preparation of budgets forecasts and long-term financial plans.
  • Prepare financial schedules reconciliations and month-end reporting information.
  • Conduct variance analysis and assist with performance reporting.
  • Maintain and enhance financial models templates and reporting tools.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements and ad hoc financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with Finance and business stakeholders to provide accurate financial information.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across planning reporting and financial systems.
  • Contribute to data integrity reporting accuracy and sound financial decision-making.

Were seeking a proactive finance professional who enjoys working with data solving problems and contributing to business performance through meaningful financial insights.

To thrive in this role youll bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting Finance or a related discipline.
  • Experience in management accounting financial analysis or a similar finance support role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn and grow within a high-performing team.

Highly regarded:

  • Experience within utilities infrastructure or other regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting budgeting forecasting or financial modelling activities.

The Details

This role can be based either at Hobart Devonport or Launceston and attracts a salary range of $99498.64 - $105027.36 per annum (inclusive of superannuation).

Please note that this role may require occasional travel throughout Tasmania including overnight stays and may involve participation in an after-hours or on-call roster as business requirements dictate.
