DATA GOVERNANCE SPECIALIST

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Specialist to establish and manage data governance frameworks processes and operating models. The role will ensure data is properly owned classified governed protected and maintained across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement data governance frameworks policies standards and processes.
• Establish data ownership and stewardship models across business and technology teams.
• Define data classification quality metadata and data lineage standards.
• Establish processes for data access sharing retention and lifecycle management.
• Support data privacy security compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Define and monitor data quality rules controls and KPIs.
• Develop and maintain data governance operating models roles responsibilities and workflows.
• Collaborate with Data Architects Business Analysts IT Security Risk and Compliance teams.
• Identify data governance gaps and recommend improvements.
• Support implementation and adoption of enterprise data governance and cataloguing tools.
• Conduct governance workshops and promote data governance awareness across the organization.

Requirements

• 8 years of experience in Data Governance Data Management or a related field.
• Strong experience with data ownership stewardship classification quality and lineage.
• Good understanding of data privacy security access sharing and retention.
• Experience developing data governance frameworks and operating models.
• Familiarity with data governance standards policies and best practices.
• Experience with data cataloguing metadata and lineage tools is preferred.
• Strong analytical documentation communication and stakeholder management skills.
