Key Responsibility

• Responsible for complete Implement maintain & Integrate Data Protection Solutions

Install Data Protection products

• Configure DPS Solution as required by the Project

• Provide basic overview training

• Diagnose DPS problems

• Liaise between customer VAS and partner support organizations

• Arrange opening and tracking of issues/problems

• Supply and install patches fixes and upgrades

• Investigate DPS software and hardware dependencies

• Install in conjunction with customers operational schedules and change management procedures

• Maintain issue tracking databases both external and internal

• Provide cover and support to other VAS operational areas as required

• Follow the VAS escalation procedure at all times

Implementation Data Protection Product

• Prepare plans for the projects that he is managing the implementation for and make sure the project is going according to schedule.

• Liaise between the Customer project team and VAS project resources.

• Escalate any issues or resources unavailability to the Project Manager and the Data Protection Team Leader.

• Complete the Installation Acceptance Form (IAF) send to VAS project Manager.

• Update locally if possible

• Attend training courses as defined by SEMGR and Technical Director

• Experience with Data Protection/Backup Recovery Tools (Networker NetBackup Veeam TSM Commvault etc.) as well as Data Domain and Avamar Technologies.
• In Depth Knowledge on Avamar and/or Networker Modules like databases VM backups Data Domain Tape Libraries. Solid knowledge on backup and restore skills.
• Knowledge desired on module backup such as Oracle SQL NDMP and VADP over Networker or Avamar Power Protect and DPA
• Experience with one or more of the following operating systems (VMware Solaris AIX and Linux).
• Skills on Storage and virtualization will be added advantage
• Experience in testing implementation change management and upgrade/migration of backup infrastructure.

Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering other related field or equivalent experience.
