Solution Architect

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product team, Technical leads and Architects to agree on business requirements that need transforming and subsequently drive forward the software solution delivery and any impact assessments, evaluations, technology selections and POCs as required.
• Communicate and consult with clients and internal stakeholders to develop appropriate solutions.
• Ensure that all technical options are considered and recommended approaches are aligned to business and technology strategy.
• Manage technical issues and ensure risks are handled appropriately and resolved.
• To be the central point of contact on architecture matters, liaising with product team, technical leads, infrastructure teams and other solution architects.
• Support the team on roadmaps, strategy, and technical recommendations and evaluations.
• Work with product and delivery teams to develop scalable solutions and products.
• Define and spread development best practices across all scrum teams.
• Facilitate cross team collaboration across all scrum teams on matters pertaining software design and technical architecture.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

• Experience of large scale, multi-product technical solutions throughout the entire development lifecycle from inception to operation using a range of technologies.
• Deep understanding of Application Architecture in a highly complex environment.
• Experience of working in a distributed team environment with mix of onshore and offshore teams.
• Proven track record in solution design and implementation.
• Confident in working with a wide range of technologies and driving through strategic technology selections and designs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, proven ability in presenting and framing complex technology concepts within a strategic business context to non-technical audiences.
• Self-sufficient, motivated and well-organized, with a high level of personal integrity and a strong commercial acumen and awareness of business strategy and IT alignment.
• Confident in leading the adoption of best architectural practises and provide architectural guidance to technical leads across multiple scrum teams.
• Experience with principles of application architecture for windows based desktop applications, iOS and Android applications.
• Hands on experience of multiple programming languages such as C#, .NET, WPF and JavaScript.
• A good understanding of client development patterns, e.g. MVVM.
• A good understanding of SCRUM (or other agile) methodologies.
• A good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Experience with one or more source control applications such as Git.
• Experience in Continuous Integration with Jenkins.

Desirable skills and experience:

• Degree educated.
• Knowledge of the cloud platform, e.g. AWS, Azure, private.
• Pharmacy, GP or Healthcare domain experience.
• Atlassian ALM toolset, including JIRA.
• Certified in Architecture Framework Methodologies, ideally TOGAF.
