Job Description
Are you passionate about art and interested in working for a startup that is transforming the art world? We are looking for a part-time Research Assistant to join our team and take the lead in gathering and filtering data of text and information about artworks for training our AI. As a Research Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission to make managing and discovering art effortless for galleries, artists, collectors, and enthusiasts.
Tasks
- Conduct partnership negotiations with museums in exchange for data.
- Request data use from archives and platforms like e-flux and Frieze Magazine.
- Analyze art historical and theory texts.
- Create associations between artworks.
- Provide recommendations for artworks.
- Analyze artworks based on the picture provided.
- Incorporate feedback.
- Write copy that explains why a user is seeing a particular artwork.
Requirements
- Self-motivated and a self-starter with strong project management skills.
- Highly detail-oriented.
- Knowledge of art theory and post-colonial theory, with a BA in art history or similar.
- Able to work in a diverse environment and respect diversity and different views.
- Good people skills and communication/negotiation experience.
