About the job
Accountabilities & Key Roles :
- Ensure IT Services continuity and efficient support to all units globally in Plc.
- Contribute in the development of IT projects.
- Adopt technical and security controls.
- Monitor and tuning Database performance.
- Database upgrades and patching.
- Ensure abidance with database administration standards to ensure most efficient and reliable environmental aspects of operating systems and databases including recoverability, integrity, security, availability, performance, Database upgrades and maintenance.
- Contribute to the implementation of projects and initiatives related to IT database administration in line with the industry best practices and Risk and Regulatory requirements.
- Develop and update database technical controls for related IT systems and ensure adequate implementation.
- Provide first / second line of technical support and expertise to different group entities for all Oracle, DB2 and Sybase databases and dependent solutions where applicable and needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair all DBs related problems in a timely manner.
- Manage in database Capacity planning.
- Participate in the development of IT PnPs.
- Adherence and compliance to all IT PnPs and work actively to close all related audit findings.
- Development of standard scripts per database to automate daily/periodic administration or diagnostics procedures.
- Coordinate with external vendors to ensure DBs are always working in healthy conditions.
- Responsible for database reporting tools and using standard management systems and compliance systems to proactively identify database administration gaps and issues.
- Manage, supervise and participate in systems security & tuning.
- Manage database implementation with external third parties and IT.
