Java/Web Developer Unified Search
- Working Location: Brussels, Belgium
- Security Clearance: NATO Secret
- Language: High proficiency level in English language
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
University degree in Computer Science/Software Development or equivalent
NATO experience
8+ years of experience and expertise in software development utilizing Java
8+ years of experience in JavaScript/HTML5 web site development and maintenance, good knowledge of MySQL and the use of SQL in general
Experience and expertise in the following technologies:
Apache and Tomcat
GIT version control
Microsoft Edge and Firefox
HTTP(S), XMPP(S), LDAP(S)
OpenID Connect
Windows and LINUX operating systems
TCP/IP networking protocols
Familiar with the following technologies:
Apache SOLR and Elastic Search Engines
VMware virtualization
Continuous Integration and Deployment
Disciplined approach to documentation, testing and quality assurance
Knowledge with optimizing performance and browser compatibility
DUTIES/ROLE:
Assist with the development of the design documentation, and other technical documents required for the project
Develop, document and integrate code/software solutions aligned with agreed standards, functional and security requirements, and design aspects. In particular this includes the further development of the deployed software solution Open Sesame (Java based document distribution solution using HTTP) in production
Assist with the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), security test and validation plans (ST&Vs) and transition plans from development to operations
NATO experience
8+ years of experience and expertise in software development utilizing Java
