A Programmer Analyst consults with users, to determine hardware, software, or system
functional specifications. Designs models, and develops information systems or programs,
including prototypes, based on user defined requirements. Writes code, authors models, reports,
programs, tests, and analyzes applications. May formulate policies for user rights and security.
Advise management about IT issues and resolutions.
In the role of Programmer analyst, he/she will be a technology professional adding value to
Software Development lifecycle stages. Will create detailed design artifacts like program
specifications, models, and independently develop, author and review code & models and
contribute to the go-live plan. Will have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the best talent
in the industry. The role is a self-organized Software Engineer with solid Cognos, SQL, and
Oracle database development experience. Requires strong problem-solving abilities, coding,
testing, and debugging skills. Must be dedicated to delivering production-ready code in two-week
sprints. Partner closely with teams located across various geographical locations to produce an
application that flows seamlessly and works intuitively.
Experience and skillset:
Preferred
At least 4 years of experience in Open system technologies.
At least 2+ years of Cognos experience with focus on Framework modeling and reports
authoring (primary skill set as Cognos).
At least 2+ years of SQL scripting experience.
At least 2+ years of experience in software development life cycle
At least 6 months of experience in Linux/Unix operating systems.
Knowledge on relational Databases and Database modeling.
Strong Analytical & design skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment
Hands-on for development.
