  • Job description

    As a capacity building officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting ANHRE’s educational program. You will have the opportunity to learn and apply essential educational approach, methodology and tools while working closely with experienced professionals.

    Youth with experiences for at least 7 years are encouraged to apply.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the implementation of high-quality program activities in line with grant agreement
  • .

    With the support of the project manager and the educational coordinator, develop a capacity building plan based on the analysis of the needs assessment and discussions with partner’s

    .

    Identify training needs and develop professional development programs.

    .

    Conduct workshops and training sessions to enhance skills and methodologies.

    .

    Provide ongoing support and mentoring to educators.

    .

    Develop assessment tools and methodologies to measure the learning outcomes.

    .

    Analyze assessment data to make informed recommendations for program improvement.

    .

    Implement strategies for continuous program evaluation.

  • Monitor progress of activities against planned achievements, outcomes and impact; evaluate the continued relevance and appropriateness of the intervention
  • Ensure that the progress reports and relevant donor reports are timely, of high quality and serve to inform management decisions
  • Provide an on-going support to the curriculum development team including the external consultants
  • Ensure that all necessary requirements to ensure a successful training session are prepared in a timely manner including material, equipment, venue and transportation
  • Participate in and lead coordination meetings, consultations, and manage the curriculum development team
  • Supervise the implementation and ensure adherence to the common and agreed guidelines as per the implementation procedures
  • Work closely with Project Manager and the educational coordinator to develop and review appropriate training materials, guidance, and procedures
  • Support Monitoring and evaluation Officer in documentation of best practices, success stories and taking good pictures for report writing.
  • Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit, oversight and guidance to staff enabling successful performance of duties.
  • Build and maintain relationships with others including partners, experts and community stakeholders.
  • Support management to identify areas of intervention, innovative approaches as well as flag likely overlaps, duplications, gaps and risk factors. Suggest solutions, where appropriate
  • Contribute for the development of ANHRE civil society toolkit in cooperation with the curriculum development specialist
  • Other duties as required by ANHRE management or in changing circumstances

    Assist partner staff with understanding of ANHRE policies and procedures as per the sub-grant agreement and best practices (procurement, financial reporting, child safeguarding, etc.)

    Assist partner and Project staff to strategize ways to ensure program delivery meets targets or adjust work plans accordingly.

    .

    With guidance from the project manage ensure partner staff are aware of ANHRE/donor guidelines and policies and that these are adhered to at all times, immediately raising any suspected non-compliance with Award department.

    .

    Keep track of noticeable partner technical, operational, finance, HR or grants issues and where necessary facilitate support from relevant ANHRE technical or operations team to ensure continuous support and involvement at all stage of the Project cycle.

    .

    Conduct regular coaching and mentoring sessions with local partner staff and mobilize other ANHRE team members to provide technical or Operation input and expertise

  • Required Skills and Experience

    Education:

  • Master’s degree in a development relevant disciplines, social sciences or associated field
  • Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience with at least 3 years directly in capacity building or curriculum development, preferable with international organizations
  • Strong knowledge on citizenship, conflict sensitive education and human rights education
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Strong capability of reporting (in English)
  • Ability to plan on work, setting priorities and completing it under pressure or when faced with competing demands
  • A strong commitment to gender sensitive, and inclusive de
