Job Title: Thermal / Heat Transfer Engineer

Job Overview

The Thermal / Heat Transfer Engineer will be responsible for the design analysis optimization and performance evaluation of thermal systems and heat transfer equipment used in industrial and process facilities. The role involves applying advanced heat transfer principles to ensure safe efficient and cost-effective operation of equipment across project lifecycle stages from conceptual design to commissioning and operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed thermal and heat transfer analysis for equipment such as heat exchangers boilers furnaces condensers evaporators and cooling systems.
  

• Design and review thermal systems in accordance with project specifications international standards and client requirements.
  

• Conduct steady-state and transient heat transfer calculations including conduction convection radiation and phase-change processes.
  

• Develop and validate thermal models using analytical methods and simulation tools.
  

• Support process and mechanical engineering teams in equipment sizing selection and performance optimization.
  

• Review vendor technical documents datasheets drawings and thermal calculations for compliance and accuracy.
  

• Identify thermal inefficiencies overheating risks and operational bottlenecks and propose corrective solutions.
  

• Participate in design reviews HAZOP studies and technical meetings with clients and project stakeholders.
  

• Assist during commissioning performance testing and troubleshooting of thermal systems on site.
  

• Prepare detailed engineering reports calculation notes and technical documentation.
  

• Ensure compliance with applicable international codes standards and Saudi regulatory requirements.
  

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering Thermal Engineering Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  

• Minimum 38 years of relevant experience in thermal or heat transfer engineering (experience level may vary by project).
  

• Proven experience working on industrial oil & gas power plant petrochemical or large-scale process projects.
  

• Prior experience in Middle East projects particularly Saudi Arabia is highly preferred.
