A Head Pastry Chef is responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while seeking customer feedback training staff controlling costs and covering all business needs
What will I be doing
As a Head Pastry Chef you are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the pastry kitchen to deliver an outstanding culinary experience. You will ensure operational excellence quality control and efficient administration while aligning pastry offerings with company objectives and market trends.
You will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Manage all aspects of the pastry kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience.
- Oversee all operational quality and administrative functions within the pastry department.
- Actively seek verbal feedback from guests and members and respond to queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure adequate staffing ingredients and resources are available to meet business demands.
- Manage the production and supply of pastry and dessert items to all Food and Beverage outlets functions and events.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety standards health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Control food and labor costs without compromising quality presentation or creativity.
- Improve gross profit margins and achieve departmental financial targets.
- Manage and monitor the financial performance of the pastry department in line with business objectives.
- Ensure food control systems are consistently followed to keep margins on target.
- Maintain high standards of quality consistency and presentation across all pastry offerings.
- Ensure team members have uptodate knowledge of menu items seasonal specials promotions functions and events.
- Recruit manage train and develop the pastry kitchen team.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels to cover business needs and peak periods.
- Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Conduct monthly team communication meetings and ensure meeting minutes are recorded.
- Maintain effective communication and strong working relationships with all hotel departments.
- Collaborate regularly with the Food and Beverage Manager to review menus and align offerings with market trends.
- Ensure maintenance hygiene and hazard issues are identified and resolved promptly.
- Comply with hotel security policies fire regulations and all health and safety requirements.
- Promote environmental awareness by minimizing waste and supporting sustainable kitchen practices.
