This includes leading capital projects plant expansions infrastructure upgrades and process improvements. The role requires a hands-on engineer who is both strategic and operational ensuring that projects are completed on time within budget and meet high safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management: Lead the planning design and execution of plant expansion projects including new circuit installations upgrades and infrastructure improvements. Ensure projects are completed safely on time and within budget.

Process Optimization: Continuously assess current operations and implement process improvements to increase plant efficiency gold recovery and throughput. Recommend and evaluate new technologies and processes for upgrading the plant.

Capital Expenditure (Capex) Planning: Develop detailed capital budgets and financial justifications for plant expansions including equipment procurement construction costs and operational expenses.

Engineering Oversight: Collaborate with consulting engineers contractors and internal teams to develop engineering designs P&IDs and flow diagrams for process upgrades or new installations.

Contractor & Vendor Management: Source and manage contractors engineers and equipment suppliers for expansion projects. Ensure compliance with contractual terms quality standards and timelines.

Compliance & Permitting: Ensure all projects adhere to local regulations (environmental health safety) and obtain necessary permits. Follow best practice guidelines for cyanide management tailings and waste disposal.

Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to new projects both technical (e.g. design flaws technology failures) and financial (e.g. cost overruns unforeseen issues).

Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to a project team of engineers contractors and support staff. Ensure seamless communication and coordination across all departments.

Reporting & Documentation: Regularly report on project progress timelines budgets and risks to senior management. Prepare detailed progress reports including any challenges and recommendations for resolution.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education: Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering Chemical Engineering Mining Engineering or related field.

Experience: At least 5 15 years of experience in project development specifically within gold processing CIP CIL or mining operations. Experience in plant expansions and capital project management is essential.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of gold recovery processes (CIP/CIL flotation gravity and detoxification).

Familiar with engineering design tools (e.g. AutoCAD MS Project Primavera etc.).

Experience with capital budgeting cost estimation and resource allocation.

Ability to identify technical challenges and implement cost-effective solutions in a mining environment.

Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing contractors. Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams external contractors and suppliers.

Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of local and international regulations for gold processing plants including environmental compliance cyanide management and safety standards.

Problem-Solving & Initiative: Strong ability to troubleshoot problem-solve and make decisions on the spot. A proactive attitude toward identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.

Age Requirement: The ideal candidate should be under 50 years old to ensure long-term commitment and operational stability within the company.
