CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. | |
ROLE PURPOSE: The Gender Equality Officer will support the implementation of the GAC SRHR project by ensuring the integration of gender-sensitive and gender-transformative approaches across all project activities. Working under the guidance of the Gender Equality Technical Advisor and Project Manager the Officer will contribute to gender analysis support the application of gender equality principles in daily implementation and ensure gender-related outcomes are effectively monitored and reported. The role involves close collaboration with field teams partners and community stakeholders to promote inclusive participation strengthen awareness of gender equality and support the delivery of gender-responsive training. The Officer will also ensure that data collection tools and reporting formats capture gender-specific indicators and contribute to documenting success stories and lessons learned. | |

Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL):
Representation and Advocacy: Represent Save the Children in relevant gender-related forums networks and coordination meetings. Support advocacy efforts to promote gender equality and adolescent girls rights at local and national levels. Contribute to the development of communication materials that highlight gender equality achievements and challenges. Other Duties: Prepare and submit regular weekly/monthly plans and reports of activities. Participate in and represent Save the Children in external events/meetings as requested. Undertake any training required to meet the objectives of the post. Comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures including child safeguarding gender equality safety and security finance procurement and HR. Ensure all project activities are implemented in line with safe programming protocols. Carry out additional duties as may be assigned by the line manager. | |

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in social sciences Gender Studies Community Development or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in gender-related programming preferably in SRHR or development settings. Demonstrated ability to integrate gender equality into project design implementation and M&E. Experience working with community-based organizations and diverse populations. Strong facilitation training and communication skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Commitment to the values and principles of Save the Children including a child-rights approach to programming. | |
