As a Junior System Administrator you will assist in maintaining and supporting the organizations IT infrastructure. This entry-level role involves ensuring the smooth operation of systems and networks that support immigration processes including case management and data handling.
Responsibilities
- System Support: Assist in monitoring and maintaining servers workstations and network systems to ensure reliable performance.
- User Assistance: Provide technical support to staff resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
- System Setup: Help with the installation and configuration of hardware software and network equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve basic system and network issues under the guidance of senior administrators.
- Backup Management: Support data backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Documentation: Maintain records of system configurations updates and troubleshooting activities.
- Security Maintenance: Assist in implementing basic security measures such as updating antivirus software and managing user access controls.
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
- Diploma or associate degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.
- 1 2 years of experience in IT support or system administration (internship experience is acceptable).
- Familiarity with operating systems like Windows and Linux.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g. IP addressing DNS DHCP).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Basic knowledge of IT tools and software (e.g. Microsoft Office remote desktop tools).
- Fluency in both English and Kiswahili (spoken and written).
- Previous experience in the aviation industry is a plus.
