Our Client an established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in civil works fabrication and welding to oversee and supervise the execution of various plant-related infrastructure projects. The role involves managing all aspects of on-site civil and fabrication work ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards coordinating with stakeholders and optimizing resource utilization. This position plays a key role in supporting plant operations by ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all on-site civil and fabrication activities to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations building codes and company standards.
- Work collaboratively with architects contractors and subcontractors to ensure project alignment and smooth workflow.
- Prepare and assess construction and fabrication plans ensuring alignment with operational requirements and project goals.
- Track project milestones and progress proactively addressing delays or issues to maintain timelines.
- Allocate and manage resources such as labor equipment and materials to enhance efficiency and control costs.
- Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Resolve on-site issues and operational bottlenecks to maintain continuity of work.
- Supervise all fabrication activities within the plant and workshop including inspection and validation of welding work.
- Maintain comprehensive records of project activities including daily logs and reports.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering or Fabrication Technology.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in civil construction and fabrication within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD MS Project and other engineering tools.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective verbal and written communication in both English and Kiswahili.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Decision-making skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to mentor motivate and develop team members.
