Position Overview:

The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for directing and overseeing all electrical engineering aspects of construction projects from concept development through design implementation and commissioning. This role provides technical leadership to deliver safe efficient and sustainable electrical systems that meet client requirements and industry standards.

What this job involves:

• Lead the development and review of electrical engineering designs specifications and drawings
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior electrical engineers and technicians
• Develop load calculations single-line diagrams panel schedules and other technical documentation
• Ensure electrical systems designs comply with applicable codes standards and regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects mechanical engineers and contractors
• Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance of engineering deliverables
• Perform site surveys and assessments to inform design decisions
• Resolve complex electrical engineering issues and provide innovative solutions
• Liaise with clients to understand requirements and present technical solutions
• Oversee electrical system testing commissioning and handover activities
• Develop and maintain electrical design standards and best practices
• Evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance electrical system performance and efficiency

Desired skills and experience:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred)
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent professional qualification
• 8 years of experience in electrical engineering for building systems and construction
• Proven experience leading complex electrical design projects

Other skills and experience should include:

• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical codes (NEC/IEC) standards and regulations
• Experience with medium and low voltage power distribution systems
• Proficiency with building management systems and controls
