About the Role

As we prepare to open our doors we are seeking an innovative and detail-driven Chief Engineer to lead the engineering and maintenance operations of this groundbreaking property.
This is more than a technical role its a chance to shape a resort that defies convention. Youll play a critical role during the pre-opening phase and beyond ensuring every system runs flawlessly sustainably and in harmony with our unique design and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all engineering operations ensuring every technical system mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC runs efficiently and reliably.
Roll out and manage a smart sustainable preventive maintenance plan that keeps our building and equipment in pristine condition.
Drive Faenas commitment to sustainability by managing energy and water usage and promoting eco-conscious engineering solutions.
Partner with other departments to deliver seamless elevated guest experiences with engineering solutions that support operational goals.
Ensure full compliance with safety environmental fire and health codes local and international.
Manage departmental budgets with a focus on smart cost control and resource efficiency.
Inspire and lead your engineering team cultivating a high-performance collaborative culture.
Oversee all third-party contractors and vendors maintaining Faenas high standards across all partnerships.
Be the first responder for any technical emergencies always with a calm solutions-focused mindset.
Continuously train and upskill your team to keep pace with new technologies and industry advancements.
This role calls for a visionary leader with strong technical acumen strategic thinking and a deep commitment to excellence. As Chief Engineer your work will be central to creating an iconic destination at Faena The Red Sea a place where magic innovation and luxury coexist.
Qualifications :
A degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical or related field); professional certifications or a masters degree are a plus.
57 years of engineering leadership experience in high-end hospitality environments ideally with exposure to iconic or design-driven properties.
Proven success in pre-opening or opening hotel projects with the ability to build systems processes and teams from the ground up.
Deep knowledge of MEP HVAC building automation systems and energy management strategies.
Strong track record in budgeting cost control and vendor management with a focus on long-term efficiency and sustainability.
Excellent understanding of regulatory compliance including health safety fire codes and environmental standardsboth local and international.
A collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire and mentor a diverse engineering team.
Solutions-focused mindset with strong troubleshooting and crisis management skills.
Clear confident communicator who can build partnerships across departments and with external contractors.
A drive for continuous improvement always staying ahead of trends in engineering technology and luxury service standards.
