Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented Finance Officer to join our growing team in Bahrain. This role will be crucial in supporting the financial operations of our CBBapproved cryptocurrency exchange ensuring accuracy compliance and efficiency in all financial activities. The Finance Officer will be responsible for a range of tasks including maintaining financial records processing payments preparing financial reports and assisting with regulatory compliance requirements specific to the cryptocurrency industry in Bahrain.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records including general ledger entries accounts payable and receivable and bank reconciliations.  

    • Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions.

    • Manage and reconcile petty cash.

  • Payment Processing and Treasury:

    • Process invoices payments to vendors and employee expense reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner.

    • Manage bank accounts and execute fund transfers as required.

  • Financial Reporting:

    • Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) regulations.  

    • Prepare adhoc financial reports as requested by management.

    • Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Hands on experience with Bahrain Tax laws and VAT filing 

    • Support the Head of Finance in ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements set forth by the Central Bank of Bahrain specifically for cryptocurrency exchanges.

    • Assist with the preparation of regulatory filings and reports.

    • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and the cryptocurrency landscape in Bahrain.

  • Audit Support:

    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.

    • Help implement audit recommendations and improve internal controls.

  • General Ledger Management:

    • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger.

    • Perform regular reconciliations of key accounts.

  • Cryptocurrency Specific Tasks (as required):

    • Assist with the reconciliation of cryptocurrency transactions and balances.

    • Support the monitoring of cryptocurrency wallets and movements.

    • Develop an understanding of the financial aspects of cryptocurrency trading and custody.

  • Other Responsibilities:

    • Assist with other financerelated tasks and projects as assigned.

    • Collaborate effectively with other departments within the organization.


Qualifications :

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field.

  • 8 years of experience in a finance role preferably within the financial services or technology sector.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS).

  • Familiarity with Bahraini financial regulations is a must.

  • Experience working with accounting software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).

  • Knowledge of the cryptocurrency market and related financial concepts is a significant advantage.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
