Weare seeking a highly experienced chief accountant tolead our accounts receivable and accruals processes. The ideal candidate willbe responsible for overseeing the accurate recording reporting and managementof receivables as well as ensuring that all accrued revenue and expenses arerecorded properly in the companys financials. This role is essential inmaintaining financial integrity ensuring compliance with accounting standardsand optimising cash flow management.
- Lead and manage the entire accounts receivable (AR) process ensuringtimely and accurate invoicing payment collections and reconciliation ofcustomer accounts.
- Develop and maintain AR policies procedures and controls to streamlineprocesses and improve collection efficiency.
- Monitor aging reports and implement strategies for reducing outstandingbalances and improving cash flow.
- Oversee the relationship with clients to address any payment delaysbilling disputes or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure the accuracyof client billing and resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage the accruals accounting process ensuring that all revenue andexpenses are recorded in accordance with the matching principle.
- Review contracts and agreements to accurately determine accrued revenueand expenses.
- Ensure that all accruals are properly recorded in general ledger atmonthend and that accrual schedules are updated regularly.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly quarterly and yearend journalentries related to accruals.
- Coordinate with other departments to gather information on expectedexpenses and revenues that should be accrued.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiencyand accuracy of receivables and accruals processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and relevant taxregulations.
- Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate risks related toreceivables and accruals.
- Support external and internal audits by providing accurate and timelydocumentation for AR and accruals accounts.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (Masters degree or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 57 years of experience in accounts receivable accruals or general accounting with at least 23 years in a management role
- Indepth knowledge of accrual accounting revenue recognition and financial reporting preferably in a consulting or professional services firm.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle QuickBooks Zoho Books and strong proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent leadership organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong abilityto analyse financial data and provide actionable insights to improveprofitability and manage risks.
- Advanced financial analysis and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent verbaland written communication skills with the ability to convey financial conceptsto nonfinancial stakeholders.
