Job Summary:
The restaurant cashier is responsible for handling transactions providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth payment processing. They also assist with basic administrative tasks and maintain a clean and organized cashier station.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Cash Handling & Transactions:
- Process customer orders and payments (cash credit/debit cards digital wallets).
- Issue receipts and provide accurate change.
- Balance the cash register at the start and end of shifts.
2. Customer Service:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Address customer inquiries concerns and complaints efficiently.
- Assist customers with menu recommendations and promotions.
3. Order Processing & Coordination:
- Communicate orders to the kitchen staff when necessary.
- Ensure takeout or delivery orders are correctly packaged and handed to customers.
4. Workstation Maintenance:
- Keep the cashier area clean and organized.
- Restock receipt paper cash register supplies and promotional materials.
5. Compliance & Security:
- Follow cash handling policies to prevent fraud or discrepancies.
6. Additional Duties:
- Assist with light cleaning tasks and restocking when needed.
- Support team members during busy periods.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Fluent in English language
- Previous experience as a cashier
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
Work Conditions:
- May require standing for extended periods.
- Evening weekend and public holiday shifts may be necessary.
