General Manager- Civil Engineering

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the departments objectives
• Oversee project management including scheduling budgeting and resource allocation
• Provide leadership and guidance to the engineering team ensuring high performance and professional development
• Monitor and enforce compliance with industry regulations and safety standards
• Collaborate with other department heads to ensure seamless integration of civil engineering projects
• Review and approve project designs plans and specifications
• Ensure effective communication and coordination with clients stakeholders and regulatory authorities
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and take corrective actions as needed
• Identify and mitigate potential risks that may impact project timelines or quality
• Oversee budgeting and financial management for civil engineering projects
• Stay updated on industry trends innovations and best practices to drive continuous improvement
• Represent the company in meetings conferences and industry events
• Participate in contract negotiations and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors
• Lead by example fostering a culture of safety excellence and teamwork
• Report to senior management on departmental performance challenges and opportunities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Masters degree preferred
• Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role within the civil engineering industry
• Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex civil engineering projects on time and within budget
• Indepth knowledge of civil engineering principles practices and regulations
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Strong financial acumen including budgeting cost control and financial analysis
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in project management software and MS Office suite
• Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems effectively
• Professional licensure as a Civil Engineer
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and effectively manage vendor relationships
• Thorough understanding of safety and environmental regulations
• Strong analytical and decisionmaking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fastpaced dynamic work environment
