Back Office Transmission Engineer

About This OpportunityWe are now looking for a Back office Transmission Engineer with good hands-on Managed services ways of working. He will be responsible for coordination, support, management, and execution of maintenance activities to ensure that services provided to customers are continuously available and performing to Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance levels.What You Will DoE-to-E 2nd level troubleshooting over IP NetworkRoutersL3 switchesL2 SwitchesL2 Transmission NodesMPLS (coordination with third party)Node AcceptanceConfiguration managementProblem ManagementWorking in 24/5 shiftsWorking on-call in weekends when required2nd line fixing for transmission related outages and degraded issues on the below Equipment’s/ Systems using STC Trouble Tickets System (RTTS):TN 2p, 6p, 20p (R6)ML6600R6000ML6352Daily work includes using the following Ericsson ENMSupport and guide NFM/FO-TX on fixing for Trouble Tickets related to Transmission.Support other teams for their E-to-E fixing (BO-Access, TNOC/SDH, GPON, Cisco)Follow up with the design team for the transmission design issues (MW/LB/DCN, SDH/CWO, IPMPLS, and GPON).Generate MW performance reports and MW utilization reports through SO-EM if required and take the necessary actions.Attend Transmission committees for investigation and analysis purposes.MDT/TCN approval and verifications for transmission activities.Audit transmission network when required.Opening/Follow-up CSR’s with 3rd line support when required.Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches)Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and configuration changeYou will bring Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (Engineering Major)5 years IP ExperienceRouter 6000SSR/SE or Cisco or JuniperRouting and SwitchingMPLSOSPFBGPQoSVRRPBFD5 years of Transmission ExperienceTN, PT, ML MW, XPICSDH nodesDWDM5 years 2nd line support / TAC is a mustCisco and Ericsson certification for IP network is preferable.Strong knowledge of IP, static and dynamic routing protocolsExperience in HP switches or routers (e.g. 5930-32QSFP+ Switch, HP 6125XLG Blade Switch, Brocade 16Gb/16c SAN)Ericsson Core, access and charging system IP connectivity fixing skills and knowledge is preferableCloud and virtualization knowledge and experience will be added advantageTelecom Experience is a plusScript understanding and writing is a plusWorking in 24/5 shiftsWorking on-call in weekends when requiredAdditional RequiredStrong attention to detail and sensitivity of business requirements.Able to understand customer and customer’s requirements.Highly responsible and accountable for self-actions.Identify competence gaps and take initiative to resolve.Lead and coach colleagues where possible.Reliability and strong organizational skills are a must.Able to work flexible hours and cope up with business requirementsSelf-motivated and ability to work under pressure, good social skillsStrong communication skills required/Written and verbalAbility to prioritize multiple tasks to completion.Ability to work independently and complete tasks successfully.Flexibility and adaptability in ever-changing environments and priorities.Exhibiting initiative in achieving organizational goals and objectives.Must have consultative skills and be ready to share knowledge.Why join Ericsson?At Ericsson, you´ll have an outstanding opportunity.
