VP of Finance

This is a remote position.

• Lead and own overall financial ecosystem of the company including finance and accounting and depending on skillset other departments like business intelligence
  
• Develop strong systems for monthly financial statements monthly forecasts variance analysis financial models annual planning and budgeting accounts payable and receivable and payroll
  
• Work in partnership with legal and/or thirdparty advisors as needed to stay in compliance with all regulatory requirements such as tax payments and analysis (audits taxes regional laws accounting policies investor compliance)
  
• Lead and develop a strong finance and accounting team by setting clear expectations establishing deadlines and growing the team as needed
  
• Treasury management: overseeing the movement of funds for payouts as needed
  
• Set develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the business in partnership with data reporting team
  
• Work with investor relations to proactively and reactively communicate financial information and context to investors
  
• Fulfill investor requests and proactively communicate financial information to investors and SLT
  
• Use business cases to implement strategic financial decisions
  
• Drive a culture of data informed decision making across the organization
  
• Work cross functionally with the leaders of the business to determine budgeting needs and requirements
  
• Report into CEO and President
  
• Remote first with occasional travel for business meetings and events
  
• Opportunity to grow into CFO position
  

Requirements

• 15 years of accounting/finance experience leading best in class policies procedures compliance and reporting for high growth companies
  
• Must have experience in a tech company or startup seeing 2X or 3X revenue growth
  
• Must have experience leading finance for multiple geographies/currencies
  
• Previous experience managing and leading an accounting and finance team
  
• Strong preference for experience with twosided marketplaces
  
• Strong communicator with the ability to articulate the why and context around the numbers
  
• Experience assessing the health of companies and advising on strategic decisions based on data driven analysis
  
• Indept understanding of the 3 key financials statements how they are intertwined and how to interpret them
  
• Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. accounting standards
  
• Expert in bridging accounting reporting to management financial reporting including metrics such as EBITDA and EBITDA adjustments
  
• Deep experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks NetSuite in a multigeographical ecosystem
  
• Experience managing an accounting system implementation a plus
  
• Strong process design experience
  
• Comfortable with a due diligence process from investors lenders auditors
  
• Experience in the travel industry a plus
  
• Experience supporting a financing round or liquidity event a plus
  
• Must be located in the United States or Canada
