Real Estate Accountant

Role Summary

Role Description

This is a fulltime role located in Lagos Nigeria.

• Managing and maintaining accurate financial records
  
• Overseeing accounts payable and receivable
  
• Maintain the general ledger
  
• Reconcile accounts resolve discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  
• Prepare monthly quarterly and yearly financial statements reports and budgets for the business and its entities
  
• Monitor cash flow and coordinate with various teams to optimize liquidity
  
• Ensure proper funding for property operations and capital expenditures
  
• Conducting financial analysis to support property investment decisions
  
• Conduct financial analysis including return on investment (ROI) to support decisionmaking.
  
• Provide insights into financial performance and trends.
  
• Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure compliance with local state and federal tax regulations.
  
• Prepare and file property tax returns as required
  
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
  
• Provide necessary documentation and support to ensure a smooth audit process
  

Requirements

• At 5 years experience Accounting experience. Experience in real estate is a plus.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  
• Professional certification such as ACCA or ICAN is required.
  
• Experience in real estate accounting budget & cash flow management financial analysis and reporting.
  
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Xero or Sage.
  
• Proven ability to manage projects meet deadlines and communicate complex financial data to stakeholders and management team.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and to adapt to a fastpaced and dynamic work environment.
  
• Excellent organizational analytical and problemsolving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to communicate financial data to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  
• Experience with the Nigerian real estate industry is a plus.
