The Position

We are currently seeking Wildlife Biologists to join our team based out of our Edmonton and Whitecourt office. This is a fulltime permanent position that is focused on inventory assessments and ecological restorations. Project work includes forest inventory ecological site assessments wildlife inventories and roadway/stream crossing assessments and restorations. Project work is remote team based safety driven and is completed for the energy and forest sectors throughout the province.

Position Accountabilities

  • This position is accountable for safe and efficient project work;
  • Manage project deliverables and working relationships with Woodlands peers management and clients;
  • Initiate develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives and best practices;
  • Assist the Operation Manager with the scheduling and management of projects.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Experience in wildlife sweeps wetland assessments watercourse crossing assessments fish identification fishery habitat classification plant identification soil classification ecological restorations field data collection and reporting;
  • Experience in remote field work and working around big yellow equipment will be considered an asset;
  • University Degree or technical diploma is required in Environmental Earth Science Forestry Biology or Engineering;
  • Professional registration or eligibility in one of Alberta s Professional Regulatory Organizations;
  • Minimum experience of 2 years;
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills;
  • Ability to maintain a valid class 5 driver s license with a clean abstract;
  • Ability to demonstrate a safety and customer service focus.
