AZRN - Mechanical Circulatory Support Coordinator

This assignment will require being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and InfluenzaThis assignment is expected to end Mid October.The Mechanical Circulatory Support Coordinator (MCSC) is a Registered Nurse and a designated member of the transplant and heart failure multidisciplinary team who plans, coordinates, and implements the care of the heart failure patient and the pre- & post-mechanical support patient, as applicable, in both the in-patient and out-patient settings in accordance with the nursing process.

Coordinates all aspects of mechanical circulatory support population by working with the patient and family to provide education and collaboratively establishes a plan of care, starting from the initial evaluation and following the continuum of care including pre procedure, post procedure, and continued follow-up post implant. Provides cross coverage to the heart transplant program coordinators on an outpatient basis and participates in call for the heart failure/MCS and transplant patient population. This role will be a combination of outpatient and inpatient.Education Requirements:Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) Required Experience Requirements:Three (3) or more years of clinical practice as an RN required Experience in pediatric cardiac/cardiac surgery patient care (within 6 months) required Experience in critical care requiredExperience with Heart Transplant preferredExperience with Mechanical Circulatory support (LVAD) strongly preferredCertification/License/Registry Requirements:An Arizona RN license or a license from a compact state with multistate privilegesCurrent BLS for Healthcare providers from the American Heart AssociationCurrent PALS from the American Heart AssociationCurrent ACLS from the American Heart Association preferred
