Job Summary:
The Assistant Lab Manager supports the Calibration Lab Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the calibration lab. This role involves managing calibration technicians ensuring compliance with industry standards and maintaining the accuracy and reliability of calibration processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision:Assist in supervising and coordinating the activities of calibration technicians.
- Quality Assurance:Ensure all calibration procedures meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation:Oversee the maintenance of accurate records and documentation of calibration activities.
- Training:Provide training and mentorship to calibration technicians and new staff.
- Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Inventory Management:Manage inventory of calibration equipment and supplies ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
- Customer Service:Address customer inquiries and concerns related to calibration services.
- Reporting:Prepare and present reports on lab performance and calibration activities to the Calibration Lab Manager.
Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g. Engineering Metrology) or equivalent experience.
- Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in calibration or a related field with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Proficiency in calibration techniques and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
