About the Role
As Chief Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and engineering operations of our hotels in Zanzibar. You will lead a team of professionals to ensure that all mechanical electrical and plumbing systems operate efficiently while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
What Youll Do
- Supervise and coordinate all maintenance operations ensuring efficiency and reliability of equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend asset lifespan.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and RIU Hotels & Resorts standards.
- Manage the engineering team providing leadership training and support.
- Oversee energy management strategies to optimize consumption and reduce costs.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.
- Prepare reports budgets and maintenance plans for short and longterm projects.
- Coordinate with external contractors for repairs renovations and inspections.
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are met to provide a safe environment for guests and staff.
