Job Summary

CeSHHAR Zimbabwe is an organisation that specialises in population health research and programming including on sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS. CeSHHAR has an extensive national regional and international academic and community partnership network. CeSHHAR has a diverse range of funders which include the Wellcome Trust the Gates Foundation UK Medical Research Council Templeton World Charity Foundation Global Fund for AIDS TB and Malaria. We partner very closely with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (UK). CeSHHAR is implementing a National Key Population programme on behalf of National AIDS Council and Ministry of Health and Child Care in all 10 provinces in Zimbabwe. The Intervention Manager will ensure timely and coherent implementation of the pharmacy-based interventions to 1) improve access to post-exposure prophylaxis and emergency contraception using the voucher system among female sex workers and women on the edge of sex work and 2) provide lenacapavir injection for PrEP among people at high risk of HIV including female sex workers in Gweru. The Intervention Manager will lead in the adaptation of VimbAI (a digital health toolkit for self-care) to provide the two interventions. The Intervention Manager will also lead the establishing and updating of community empowerment metrics that would inform the community engagement activities during implementation of these interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead implementation of the voucher-based HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and emergency contraception (EC) intervention in accordance with approved protocols SOPs ethical requirements and national guidelines.
Lead implementation of the pharmacy-based lenacapavir intervention ensuring alignment with Ministry of Health and Child Care requirements regulatory standards and approved study procedures.



Develop detailed implementation plans milestones risk mitigation measures and monitoring frameworks for all intervention activities.
Coordinate community pharmacy clinic and digital health teams to ensure coherent delivery of intervention activities across in the implementation sites.
Monitor intervention fidelity and ensure that core components are delivered as intended.
Identify implementation challenges and lead adaptive responses to improve service delivery uptake retention and quality.
Lead the adaptation enhancement and operational deployment of VimbAI to support delivery of HIV prevention and broader self-care interventions.
Oversee development of new VimbAI capabilities that support:
Lead human-in-the-loop (HITL) functions for new VimbAI capabilities including data labelling review quality control and oversight.
Work closely with VimbAI technical developers programme teams and end users to define requirements test new functionalities and ensure usability.
Ensure that VimbAI innovations are evidence-based user-centred and aligned with community needs and national HIV prevention priorities.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with pharmacies healthcare providers community organisations regulatory authorities and government stakeholders.
Coordinate engagement with the Ministry of Health and Child Care local authorities implementing partners and digital health collaborators.
Support co-design and stakeholder consultation processes for intervention refinement and scale-up planning.
Convene regular implementation review meetings and quality improvement processes.
Oversee monitoring systems to track intervention uptake coverage fidelity service quality and outcomes.
Ensure effective use of digital data systems including voucher tracking and VimbAI-generated programmatic data.
Lead routine review of implementation data to identify trends gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Support implementation research activities and contribute to analysis of implementation outcomes including acceptability feasibility appropriateness adoption fidelity penetration and sustainability.
Produce high-quality technical reports presentations and implementation updates.
Ensure compliance with research protocols ethical approvals data protection requirements and safeguarding procedures.
Monitor adherence to intervention SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Support preparation of reports for donors ethics committees regulators and programme leadership.




Requirements
Bachelors degree in Social Sciences Development Studies Social Work Psychology or Public Health
Masters degree in Public Health Social Sciences Epidemiology or any related field is an added advantage
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing self-care interventions for vulnerable populations for example pharmacy-based models that achieve population-level impact.
Experience in coordination of diverse teams communities and stakeholder engagement
Experience in report writing reviewing and aligning with donor requirements
Proven experience engaging government departments donors stakeholders researchers and policymakers to scale evidence-based interventions and drive the achievement of common goals


Required Skills:

Bachelors degree in Social Sciences Development Studies Social Work Psychology or Public Health Masters degree in Public Health Social Sciences Epidemiology or any related field is an added advantage At least 5 years managerial experience in management of intervention activities that explore innovations to increase HIV services access among key and vulnerable populations Demonstrated experience designing and implementing self-care interventions for vulnerable populations for example pharmacy-based models that achieve population-level impact.
