Job Summary

Geospatial Data Collection and Management
Collect validate and consolidate spatial and attribute data from field teams implementing partners and other stakeholders.
Support GPS and mobile-based data collection initiatives across IFAW-supported landscapes using platforms such as EarthRanger SMART and Survey123.
Maintain and update organizational and partner geodatabases ensuring data integrity consistency and adherence to metadata standards.
Conduct data digitization cleaning verification and quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy completeness and reliability of spatial datasets.

Mapping Spatial Analysis and Remote Sensing
Produce high-quality maps cartographic layouts and geospatial products to support project implementation reporting and decision-making.
Perform geospatial analyses and spatial modeling under the guidance of senior GIS personnel to support conservation and landscape management activities.
Support remote sensing spatial monitoring and imagery interpretation activities for conservation planning habitat assessment and project monitoring.

Web GIS and Geospatial Communication
Create maintain and enhance Web GIS applications interactive maps dashboards and other geospatial visualization tools for internal and external stakeholders.
Design develop and update ArcGIS StoryMaps and other geospatial storytelling products that integrate maps multimedia content and narrative text to effectively communicate conservation initiatives project achievements lessons learned and landscape impacts to partners donors communities and decision-makers.

Technical Support and Capacity Building
Provide technical GIS and data management support to project teams and partners strengthening capacity for spatial data collection analysis visualization and reporting.

Standards Documentation and Innovation
Document GIS workflows methodologies standard operating procedures and data management processes maintaining accurate records in accordance with organizational standards.
Contribute to the development and implementation of spatial data management standards best practices and innovative geospatial solutions to support organizational objectives.

Requirements
-Bachelors degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or a related field preferred.
-At least two (2) years of relevant experience in GIS spatial data management and geospatial analysis; relevant internships may be considered.
-Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro ArcGIS Online and/or QGIS for spatial data management analysis and map production.
-Experience with GPS and mobile data collection tools such as Survey123 EarthRanger SMART Field Maps or similar platforms.
-Strong understanding of cartography coordinate systems geodatabases metadata standards and spatial data management principles.
-Experience developing Web GIS applications dashboards and ArcGIS StoryMaps to communicate spatial information effectively.
-Excellent analytical problem-solving communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
-Willingness and ability to travel to field locations including remote environments with travel requirements of up to 20% of work time.
