About Westward Seafoods
If you're looking for a summer job on an Alaskan fishing boat, go Westward, young man. Westward Seafoods processes ocean-going fin fish, crab, and surimi. Processing is done either in the company's plant near Anchorage, Alaska, or at Dutch Harbor, Alaska, which is located off the coast of the Aleutian islands in the Bering Sea. (Dutch Harbor has the distinction of being US' largest commercial fishing port). Seattle-headquartered Westward Seafoods has the capability of processing some 65,000 metric tons of seafood each year. The company is owned by Japanese fish-processing giant, Maruha Nichiro.
