Young Minds Childcare Teacher

JOB TITLE: YOUNG MINDS CHILDCARE TEACHER

REPORTS TO: Young Minds Director and the Young Minds Administartive Assistant

QUALIFICATIONS: The teacher must meet the following:

1. One year full-time experience in an early childhood environment
2. Required twenty hours of professional development yearly
3. Obtain a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification and first aid annually

• Master Teachers are required to have a Level 4 or higher PDL

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Follow guidelines established by Department of Human Services.
2. Implement weekly lesson plans using the Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines with age-appropriate activities for the children in creative skills language arts math health safety and physical development science social and personal skills and social studies. Childrens needs and interests are used to inform weekly lessons and planning.
3. Rotate add and arrange classroom equipment to support childrens learning activities reflected on lesson plans and to engage childrens imaginations and interests.
4. Observe and document each childs progress accomplishments and challenges and provide a written report to the Director and parents a minimum of twice a year.
5. Maintain an open line of communication with parents and families.
6. Provide daily sheets to families as well as verbal communication.
7. Demonstrate unity and be a positive role model for families co-workers and children.
8. Follow the chain of command with any issues or concerns.
9. Notify the Director or person in charge of any upcoming vacations or needs for time off.
10. Attend personnel meetings and functions sponsored by center.
11. Supervise and assist afternoon relief when necessary.
12. Alert Director when equipment or center needs repairs.
13. Ensure cleanliness and safety at all times.
14. Make hand washing for all a routine practice oversee hand washing during toileting.
15. Change wet clothing as needed following sanitary procedures.
16. Serve and clean up lunch.

• 1.070 ratio for Child Care Teachers
• 1.112 ratio for Master TeacherYPS Pay Information

STATUS: Non-exempt Support
