YMCA Custodian

As a full-time YMCA Custodian youll keep our York facility spotless safe and always readyso members and staff can charge into fitness programs and community.

Key responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas including restrooms locker rooms common spaces and program rooms
- Handle daily cleaning tasks: mopping dusting vacuuming trash/recycling removal and restocking supplies
- Use motorized and non-motorized equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums
- Complete basic upkeep (painting/minor repairs) and quickly report hazards or repair needs
- Assist with seasonal/outdoor tasks like snow removal and groundskeeping as assigned

Required qualifications/skills:
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques products and safe chemical handling
- Ability to read and follow procedures; strong attention to detail and time management
- Physical stamina; able to work independently and as part of a team

Your onsite day runs MondayFriday 6:00am2:00pm. You kick off early with a quick check-in and a clear game plan then move through the building as it comes to lifestaying in rhythm working steadily and keeping your eyes open for anything that needs attention. By mid-shift youre rotating through different areas keeping pace with the flow of members and programs. You wrap up by confirming spaces are ready for whats next and handing off any notes so the facility stays on track.
