Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Casual Yiriyirimbang Support Worker to support children young people and families involved with the Yiriyirimbang Program.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting children and families facilitating family time mentoring young people and helping strengthen connections to culture community and family.

About the Role

As a Yiriyirimbang Support Worker you will:

  • Safely transport children and families to appointments family time visits school extracurricular activities and other required locations.
  • Supervise and facilitate Family Time visits.
  • Role model positive parenting skills and techniques.
  • Complete accurate observation and Family Time reports.
  • Support children and young people to achieve their individual goals.
  • Work closely with Case Managers and the broader Yiriyirimbang team.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
  • Report any child protection concerns in line with mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with general case management and administrative tasks as required.
About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • An understanding of NSW Child Protection legislation Mandatory Reporting requirements and Out of Home Care services.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal children young people families and communities.
  • A current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • The ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and school holidays.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
Essential Requirements
  • Current NSW Driver Licence.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check.

Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS) is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal families and the wider community across Central Western NSW.

Since its establishment in 2005 with a small team OAMS has grown to operate across five locations providing a comprehensive range of services to the community.
