Job Summary

Our client a well-established and respected South Florida law firm is seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Associate Attorney to join its West Palm Beach office.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of Florida workers compensation experience strong litigation and negotiation skills and the ability to independently manage a caseload from inception through resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently manage a caseload of Florida workers compensation matters from inception through resolution
  • Evaluate claims medical records wage information benefits and other case-related documentation
  • Develop case strategies and provide knowledgeable legal counsel throughout the claims and litigation process
  • Draft and file petitions motions discovery responses and other legal documents
  • Conduct and defend depositions of parties witnesses medical providers and experts
  • Attend mediations hearings conferences and other workers compensation proceedings
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel and insurance carriers to achieve favorable resolutions
  • Prepare matters for final hearings and litigation when necessary
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case developments strategy and expectations
  • Ensure all deadlines filings and procedural requirements are handled accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate with attorneys paralegals legal assistants and other members of the legal team
  • Stay current on developments in Florida workers compensation statutes regulations and case law
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active and in good standing with The Florida Bar
  • Minimum of 5 years of Florida workers compensation experience
  • Strong knowledge of Florida workers compensation law and procedure
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage workers compensation matters
  • Significant experience with depositions mediations hearings negotiations and case resolution
  • Strong litigation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to effectively manage a substantial caseload and competing deadlines
  • Sound legal judgment and strong attention to detail
  • Professional client-focused approach with a commitment to providing high-quality legal representation
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
