Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director Womens Resource Center (Center) the Coordinator is responsible for helping to coordinate programs and carry out general student services and may be responsible for elements of fiscal operations for the Womens Resource Center and will support the programming and activities.
In conjunction with the Director the Coordinator will create and implement programs and services related to student learning and development that align with the mission of Student Affairs; assist in the recruitment development enrichment inclusion retention and student experiences of a diverse Sacramento State student population; serve as a liaison to various offices and programs across campus and to external and community partners; seek and draft grants for external funding and engage in other fundraising efforts; provide lead work direction to represented staff; and recruit hire and provide lead direction to student staff and interns as needed. The Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships within Sacramento State and the larger community to create and administer programs and services that support the retention and success of and improve the campus climate for women BIPOC first-generation and other diverse populations. This position will also represent the Center and its affiliated Programs on appropriate committees as needed.
FLSA:Exempt (not eligible for overtime compensation)
Anticipated Hiring Range:$5540.00 per month. Anticipated hiring rate is at the entry of the classification salary range.

Knowledge and Abilities:
The following knowledge and abilities as well as those listed at the lower levels in the Student Services Professional series are required for appointment into this classification. Thorough knowledge of the principles of individual and group behavior. General knowledge of the principles practices and trends of the Student Services field as well as general knowledge of the policies procedures and practices of the program area to which assigned; general knowledge of individual counseling techniques; general knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge of the organizational procedures and activities of the specific campus to which the position is assigned. Working knowledge of student services programs outside the program to which immediately assigned.
Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action; advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters; determine appropriate courses of action and proper techniques to utilize while engaged with individuals in personal interactions of an argumentative or sensitive nature; interpret and evaluate descriptions and explanations of problems brought forward by individuals or student organizations analyze and define the problem draw valid conclusions and project consequences of various alternative courses of action; carry out a variety of professionally complex assignments without detailed instructions; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals.
Experience:
Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience. One year in the program area to which assigned may be preferred but is not required.
A masters degree in Counseling Clinical Psychology Social Work or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.
Education:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field including or supplemented by upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques interviewing and conflict resolution where such are job-related.

- Understanding of providing inclusive services and support to all students served by the Womens Resource Center.
- Understanding of and familiarity with educational equity principles.
- Understanding of the role that the Womens Resource Center plays in student success
- Ability to work and collaborate with students staff and faculty from diverse racial cultural ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Ability to independently prioritize plan and organize work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment
- Ability to provide lead direction to student assistants and volunteers.
- Ability to work independently and possess self-direction skills to be able to initiate plans organize prioritize multi-task and coordinate work in a fast-paced organization.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to compose draft and edit correspondence reports notices and announcements.
- Ability to compile prepare write and review reports
- Ability to advise students on sensitive issues.
- Ability to train others on new skills and procedures.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Strong computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents including faculty students staff and members of the community.

PreferredQualifications
- At least two years of experience working with student services student group advising and/or supporting diversity programs in a university environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff volunteers and the community regarding event planning record keeping facility use maintenance needs and evolving program needs.
- Knowledge of General Education requirements in the California State University system.
- Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of diversity equity and inclusion principles. Familiarity with social justice intersectionality and related principles.
