About the Role
The Wine Educatoris responsible forcreating a memorable wine and customer service experience while promoting the sale of wines and wine club memberships. Additionally this roleis responsible forserving set-up and clean-up of all tasting room functions
Key Responsibilities
- Greetall visitors and pour wines for tasting.
- Customize guest experienceutilizingreservation notes orderhistoryand preferences.
- Create an exclusive and memorable experience for each guest including tours and sharing the DAOU story.
- Promote our wines culinary experiences and club memberships while providinga world-class customer experience andanticipatingthecustomers every need.
- Build relationships and recruit members to our exclusive Membership.
- MaintainMembership CRM including proper data capture and visit notes.
- Describe wines and authentic winery history answer visitors questions.
- Assistwith display and stocking of retail items and wines.
- Assistwithspecial events.
- Acquireandmaintainthorough knowledge of winerythe wines and their functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned bymanager.
- Assistinmaintainingcleanliness of facilities.
- Prepare each table before a guest is seated andmaintaintablethroughoutvisit.
- Maintain the bar throughout service.
- Follow up with guests and members over the phone and in writing
About you
- Mustbe at least 21 years old.
- Professional demeanor.
- Works efficiently and follows company standards with or without immediate supervision.
- Possessknowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional visitor experiences.
- Previoustasting roomsalesor hospitality experience preferred.
- Knowledge of wine and wine production.
- Wine Certification with the Society of Wine Educators Court of Master Sommeliers or WSET preferred.
- Very strongunderstanding of the English language.
- Must hold a valid California Food Handlers Certification.
- Spanish/French/Other languages a plus.

Estimated on-target-earnings ranges from $17 to $17 per hour based on experience skills role scope location and business needs. Incentive pay: Eligible to participate in the Direct-to-Consumer Sales Incentive Plan (DSIP) offering variable compensation based on site performance. Incentive pay is not guaranteed. Estimated On-target-earnings (OTE): $18.70 per hour based on base pay plus target DSIP at target performance (where applicable). Actual earnings vary based on site performance hours worked and role classification. Tips: This role is eligible for tips. Tips are paid by customers and vary by location shift and customer volume. Tips are not guaranteed. Based on historical experience in some locations and shifts tips have at times added in excess of 100% above base pay for some employees.
