Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:The District Director of Youth Development has the responsibility of ensuring effective and efficientbusiness operations. Responsibilities include training and development of assigned child care staffensuring quality and compliance of program promotion and monitoring results against pre-statedperformance goals. Overall the District Director will be fully accountable for maintaining operations at 10-12 child care sites. Responsibilities will include maintaining adequate staffing full enrollment in programsmaximization of public and private revenues and maintenance of appropriate physical environments andactive community involvement within their assigned FUNCTIONS: Supervises all Site Administrators/Coordinators within assigned region. Reviews and appraises the effectiveness of directly supervised personnel and makes appropriatetraining recommendations or staff changes where necessary. Continually reviews and evaluates key performances measures regarding service sites staffinglicensing compliance issues customer service and fiscal operations to insure for continuousimprovements in each area. Responsible for staff recruitment hiring training and scheduling. Reviews and evaluates staffperformance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensures that all third party program standards are being met to the highest quality including butnot limited to SUTQ Headstart all YMCA program standards (including HEPA) etc. Develops and maintains relationships with school administration ODJFS parent groups and otherorganizations and agencies related to assigned regional programs. Ensures that staff respond toall agency parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Initiates and maintains necessary relationships with local schools community organizations andother partners to ensure that all YMCA youth development services exceed all licensure andcommunity requirements. Implements and leads any needed staff meetings or training for staff in areas of managementeffective supervision licensing & quality child care program and other related topics. Plans and oversees on-going marketing of Licensed Child Care programs to ensure optimumenrollments. Ensures YMCA expectations for high quality programming are being met through routine programevaluation and assessment. Explores growth opportunities and expands programming within assigned region in accordancewith strategic and operating plans. Develops strategies to recruit motivate and professionally develop staff. Reviews and evaluatesstaff performance. Continually improves recruitment and retention strategies to maintain the bestavailable staff. Develops manages and controls budgets related to all assigned regional child care enrollment and ensures program operates within budget and that program fees arecollected. Continually improves recruitment and retention strategies to maintain the best available staff. Assists in the development of marketing strategies and the creation of program marketing tools. Ensures system to obtain public and private revenues and purchased furniture equipment andsupplies is effective and efficient. Develops regional program goals annually with input from staff children and parents and theChild Care team. Ability to develop retain and lead a team of youth development professionals that deliver highquality fiscally child care programs. Plans and oversees on-going marketing of Licensed Child Care programs to ensure optimumenrollments. Verify that all staff maintains all internal and external required certifications and comply withregulations. Other duties as :Education Bachelors degree is requiredExperience: Must have a minimum of 5 years experience of demonstrated leadership in long-term planningdesigning and implementing a successful child care site and successfully accrediting centersthrough SUTQ NAA and/or (s) & Requirements: CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire. Must meet Administrator qualifications for ODJFS Licensed programs. Must submit all required paperwork for ODJFS licensing. Must submit a staff medical statement asrequired by ODJFS standards. Must obtain and keep current training certification in first aidcommunicable diseases child abuse recognition & prevention as required by ODJFS. Must attendall necessary McA childcare and/or grant related training. Must possess a valid drivers license be able to drive and have access to own vehicleTechnical Skills and Knowledge: Passionate belief in the Ys cause of nurturing the potential of all youth supporting healthy livingfor all people and finding ways to help and support our neighbors. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments ofthe community. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to administer the program fiscal and personnel policies of the association a person in thisposition must possess the insights and skills of modern management (ex. ContinuousImprovement) to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization. Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others. Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to solving challenging situations. Excellent time management customer service attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to multitask and handle high volume of work Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite with excellent Excel skills experience withcomparable payroll/HRIS system preference for ADP Kronos or CeridianPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Definition: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by anemployee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
